The Naked Truth about 100% Kona Coffee 2009 Calendar – Miss May

I know this coffee farmer! Cea and I met in a news group on the Internet. When she and Bob came to the SCAA conference in Denver, Colorado I went to her booth. On two trips to Hawaii, we visited their farm. Both days were fun and informative!

Your 2009 May calendar coffee farming lesson:

Roasting: “Kona Coffee is distinguished for having great strength, fine flavor, and delicious aroma. Roasting releases the delicious flavor from the green beans. Kona Coffee has a unique varietal flavor that is best roasted medium or medium dark, similar in color to milk chocolate and dark chocolate. Over the past 15 years many small farms have moved to take their coffee all the way to roast and have their own private Estate label. There are more than 100 private labels for 100% Kona Coffee in the State of Hawaii.”

My blog posts with photos of their farm.
