Your 2009 March calendar coffee farming lesson:

"All coffee orchards need plantings from time to time; some to extend their fields, others to replace an occasional tree that is not doing well, or to fill in where trees may be too far spaced. Coffee grows true from its beans, and the beans are very viable, with more than 90% germination. Farmers mostly grow their own keiki (baby) trees in small nursery plots from beans from their own vigorous trees, and some keiki are also available from specialist growers."
