Step One
Boil water in a separate glass or ceramic container. As the water heats up, take hold of the French press handle while removing the plunger. Add two level tablespoons of coarse-ground coffee per cup (six ounces) into your coffee maker.

Step Two
Pour nearly boiling water into the pot up to one inch from the top. Stir the coffee with a plastic spoon (don't use metal spoons). Place the plunger in the pot but don't press down.

Step Three
Once your press is ready for brewing, pull apart the opening at the top of your Kozee. Next, slip the Kozee over the top of the press plunger. Pull the Kozee down to completely cover the carafe. Close the opening at the top of the Kozee around the plunger stem (below the plunger knob) to "seal" the Kozee with the velcro fastener. For best results, wait four minutes for coffee to steep.
Step Four Step Three
When brewing is complete, pull the opening apart to re-open the Kozee. Push the plunger stem down until the knob contacts the press lid. Re-close the opening with the velcro fastener. Remove the Kozee each time you pour your robust brew. Be sure you replace the Kozee on the pot each time, so your coffee remains hotter longer!
